    I didn't plan on becoming a photographer, well not at first. I first started my studies at community college for my associate's in teaching. After a year at community college, I was feeling left out of the "college life" that my friends and partner were getting. So I applied to transfer, and I did just that. When I came home for Thanksgiving break, my partner's brother asked me to photograph him doing some action shots for his baseball account.  The basics: pitching, running, and some fielding. And in that moment, I fell in love with sports photography. 

    I switched my major at the university I was at, but I knew I wanted sports photography, and going to school in a small town was not going to help me achieve my goals. I transferred back to CC and was on the hunt for a school focusing on photography.  

    I thought University of the Arts was going to be my home, but then they shut down.  I felt hopeless. I wanted a school to help me strengthen my photography skills. So when Drexel announced they were going to take in students who were affected by the sudden closing, I wanted to take my chance. I toured, I appiled,  and I was anxious. Afraid I wouldn't get in.  Afraid I wasn't strong enough. Long weeks, nights of anxiety, refreshing and checking my email every second. Still nothing. Then one day at work, my life changed.
